Install the Zotero Connector (Recommended before the workshop)
This lets you save references directly from websites, databases, and Google Scholar.
Create a Zotero Account (Recommended before the workshop)
- Go to Zotero.org
- Sign up for a free account (needed for syncing your library across devices).
Sync Your Library (Recommended before the workshop)
- Open the Zotero desktop app.
- Go to Edit → Preferences → Sync.
- Enter your Zotero account details and enable syncing.
Organize Your References
- Use Collections (folders) to group references by project or theme.

- Zotero installs a plugin for Word and LibreOffice automatically.

NotebookLM
- Sign In
- Go to notebooklm.google
- Sign in with your Google account (Gmail)
- Create a New Notebook
- Click “New Notebook”
- Give your notebook a name (e.g., Research Project, Thesis Review)
- Upload Sources
- Add Google Docs, PDFs, or web-page
- NotebookLM will build an AI model grounded only in your sources
- Ask Questions
- Use the chat box to ask questions.
- Example: “Summarize Chapter 2 in 5 bullet points” or “Compare methods A and B”
- Generate Insights
- Get summaries, outlines, or concept maps
